Margaret Gorrell

Co-Founder

 Margaret Gorrell is a San Francisco Bay native who now resides in New York City. 

With Tier5, Margaret was part of the devising and writing team responsible for meg jo beth amy & louisa as well as playing every iteration of Amy March / May Alcott. She also originated the role of Catherine Howard in Ladies in Waiting: The Judgement of Henry VIII (London, Edinburgh, DC, and Phoenix) and the Ghost of Christmas Past in The Christmas Carol: A Queer Fantasia (NYC). Margaret also read the role of Dorothy Gale in Tier5’s staged reading of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, appeared as a presenter in Tier5 Sings! Witch, Please!, and will voice the role of Juliet in Tier5’s upcoming animated film, Romeo & Juliet: The Tragic Tale of Two Animal Cross-ed Lovers. 

Other credits include Briar Rose in Sleeping Beauty (Corbett Theatre, London), Paquerette in A Little Hotel on the Side (Corbett Theatre, London), Prostitute 2 / Woman 2 in Don Juan Comes Back from the War (Tristan Bates, London), Mrs. Asbury/Fanny in Spring Storm (Arcola Theatre, London), Hermia in After Midsummer (London), Elsa in Go Back for Murder (Orinda Village Starlight Players, Orinda), Midge in Wrong Window (Orinda Village Starlight Players, Orinda), Alice in Death By Design (Chanticleers Theatre, Castro Valley), Adolescent Female in Social Darwinism (Under the Sun Studios, Concord). 

She has also done numerous costume designs with Tier5 including Ladies in Waiting: The Judgement of Henry VIII (London, Edinburgh, Phoenix), The Christmas Carol: A Queer Fantasia (NYC), and meg jo beth amy and louisa (Phoenix). Other costume credits include Faculty Portrait (NYC) and The Private Ear (CA). 

Margaret has an MFA in Acting from East 15 Acting School (UK) and a BA in Theatre Arts from Notre Dame de Namur University.
